Here's the description of our Certified Reflexologist Program:



Certified Reflexologist:

Inner Rhythms Healing Arts Certified Reflexologist Course Outline (Course is 120 hours)

This course is designed to teach persons interested in Holistic Therapies the history, use and techniques of Reflexology.

Upon successful completion of the Course, the student will be able to:

* Recognize the different reflex points and zones of the feet and hands.

* Associate reflex points and zones of the feet with corresponding anatomy and physiology of the body.

* Recognize the different areas of the feet and hands that are treated in reflexology.

* Recognize and apply the correct techniques used during treatment.

* Associate specific techniques with appropriate area(s) of the foot.

* Associate specific techniques with different stages of the treatment process.

* Understand how the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine influence reflexology.

* Understand therapist-client relationship, and the ethics involved.

* Understand the basics of setting-up and running your own reflexology clinic.



Our Reflexology Certification Course is 120 hours, over ten weeks. 'School days' are Monday through Thursday from 9am to noon.

There will be extra-curricular assignments for students that are not part of the basic training hours, but add to the student's on-going tracking of practice hours.

We teach reflexology 'hands-on', that is to say there will be practical experience each week of study.



The study weeks are as follows:

Weeks 01-02, Anatomy and Physiology:

     We'll look at terminology, the eleven body systems, their function and how this knowledge applies to reflexology.
Special attention is given to muscular, skeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic, and nervous and immune systems, with study of inflammation and tissue repair.

Weeks 03-04, Kinesiology:

     The study of joints, muscle groups and their actions. Incorporates ergonomics and range of motion of various joints, and looks at common injuries resulting in joint pathologies, and proper treatment for such injuries.
     Students learn indications and contraindications for reflexology, as when to use reflexology relative to disorders, trauma, or even surgery. Class includes study of anatomical terminology, basic arthrology and functions of muscle tissue.

Week 05, Traditional Chinese Medicine:

     Inner Rhythms School of Healing Arts teaches the meridians and concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, because we utilize these energy pathways in nearly every treatment we perform.
     Student will learn of the major meridian lines of the human body, and will learn proper placement and pressure of Acupressure points on the foot, as well as appraisal techniques for the overall health of the client.

Week 05 (cont.) Ethics, Business Practices:

     In Ethics and Business Practices, we teach to the proven 'Business Mastery' and 'Ethics of Touch', by Cherie Sohnen-Moe and Ben E. Benjamin.
     This class is a fresh, honest look at the reality of planning, starting and maintaining your own bodywork business.
     The student will learn common business practices, as well as learning the law as related to reflexology and bodywork.

Weeks 05-10: Reflexology:

     Intensive study time involving lecture, demo, homework and student practice.

     Origins, theory, applied theory, techniques, assessment, more techniques, getting results, communicating with client, techniques specific to disorders, physiology of reflexology, documentation, focus on meridians, clinic work on actual members of the public, techniques specific to appropriate areas of the foot, hot stones as applied to reflexology, the zones of the hands and feet, principles of energy flow within the body, bone structure of the hand and foot, relationship of reflexology to circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems, and much more.

Note: Students are provided with complete syllibi for each class upon active enrollment.



Tuition:

     Cost for the Certified Reflexologist Course is $2350, plus approx. $150 for books and materials.
